Blu-ray Disc Association begint met licenties Ultra HD

De Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) begint 24 augustus met het verstrekken van licenties voor het nieuwe Ultra HD Blue-ray formaat. De BDA publiceerde de specificaties hiervoor enkele maanden terug. De standaard gaat uit van 840 x 2,160 pixel resolutie, maximaal 60fps, 66GB of 100GB schrijven (met twee of drie lagen). Het Ultra HD formaat komt tien jaar na de introductie van Blu-ray.
